AND THEN THERE
WAS TROUVAILLE.

Trouvaille, from the French trouver, means “lucky find.”
Before the reimagining of Shannon Farm, this authentic, family-run operation wholeheartedly served the community through dedication, passion and pride. Let’s see how we run with the torch we’re wildy honored to carry.

FROM HUMBLE,
TO HARVEST
BEGINNINGS.

Plant + Produce

Locals came to the Shannon Farm greenhouses for squash and cucumbers, new spring pansies, and friendly conversation with familiar folks, right here at this address.

About the Shannons.

The community of Woburn has rich roots in farm life. At one time its entire west side was covered with farmland and greenhouses, and then the four-generation family-run Shannon Farm was the last remaining farm operation in Woburn.

For years, the Shannons supplied retailers with wholesale produce and flowers- like butternut squash, hot-house cucumbers, and new spring pansies—and their customers enjoyed the personal connection of friendly conversation and a familiar face.

Brothers Walter and Warren Shannon had farming in their blood. Their grandfather, James Shannon, came to America—right here to Woburn’s Lexington Street—from famine in Ireland in 1881, and the greenhouse production began alongside the Dobbins and Shannon Dairy Farm.

After high school, Walter spent half a century waking in the wee hours of the morning to make sure his family’s market opened to buyers by 5 a.m. This same dedication was apparent in Shannon farm employees, who returned season after season because the Shannons treated them like family and conducted business with a “do unto others” approach. Even in his retirement, Walter could be seen working on the farm right alongside his employees.

The spirit of the Shannon Family and Shannon Farm lives on at Trouvaille, where community is a family value and the farm is brought to the table. Shannon Family mementos will add to the heart and soul of Trouvaille in the community clubhouse, and the legacy of the Shannon Family is honored as new roots are laid for the next generation at the Homes at Shannon Farm.
